Best major for FLDP recruiting?
Hello WSO, first time posting on here! I am going to be a third year undergrad student in the fall and I will be going through OCR for some F100 FLDP's. I am majoring in Business Economics, and I'm trying to decide whether to double major in Biz-Admin with an emphasis in finance, or to get a minor in accounting. I would much rather get the double major in finance but I know FLDP's can (and usually do) have accounting rotations.
My question is: Will getting the accounting minor give me an edge in OCR over the double major in finance? Or is the difference to recruiters negligible, in which case I'd go with finance. Thanks!

Biz-addy is absolutely retarded, it's literally not a major at all... you pretty much take any upper level electives you want, which is useless for recruiting

Biz Econ is Econ and management courses, biz admin is mostly management and then an emphasis, which for me would be finance. I won’t have to take too many overlapping management classes since I’ll have credit for them already.
The majority of FLDP’s tend to be more Accounting Leadership Development Program. In regards to the major question, I would stay away from Business Administration. Just aim for Finance + a minor in accounting.

I'm currently in a F100 FLDP and did my junior internship with a different F100 FLDP, and I would say the difference in your major is fairly negligible. People get into our program with degrees in economics, finance, accounting, data science, business admin, statistics, etc.
That being said, I would brush up on your accounting knowledge if your Business Economics major doesn't include accounting courses.

I'm currently in GE's FMP which is generally regarded as very good FLDP. Not everyone in the program was a finance or accounting major. We have some marketing, some engineering, some supply chain. Its probably a 70/30 split of finance/accounting to non-finance/accounting majors.
For recruiting, the important things for my program is GPA, signficant displayed interest and a high level of general curiosity among other items. Consider that as you will.
However, I would be remiss to not push the accounting major on you. Accounting is a fundamental part of corporate finance. The majority of corp fin work revolves around P&L and B/S in one way or another. You are typically not doing investment analysis and other core "finance" work.
