Citi LevFin Underwriting
Was wondering if anyone here knows anything about Citi’s LevFin underwriting team? Is this a FO team or more like MO team(e.g.,Credit Risk, etc)? Apparently it sits in the Institutional Credit Management division as opposed to IBD.
Also what’s does the interview process look like for this team?
Thanks!
They work on non-ig deal memos, but also have to do annual reviews and quarterly reviews which is just bitch work (although they have a separate team they outsource part of those too) On deal memos, their work doesn’t really consist of anything too interesting since IB handles model and company / industry stuff I think they do some modeling when it comes to non deal stuff, like the annual and quarterly reviews I don’t really think they interact with clients, since thats what IB/LF/CB is for, but i’ve seen pretty good credit exits from them (Apollo/Silver Point) I work with them and sometimes they’re a annoying to deal with, but they definitely learn a lot
Hey, thanks for the insight there! Super helpful!
So based on what you’re saying, this seems to be more of a MO role - is that correct?
Also, do you know anything about the interview process for this team and types of questions to be ready for?
Yeah i’d call it middle office Typical accounting, etc questions but also knowing credit stuff leverage, covenants, different types of debt, coverage ratios, etc
is it the case that the LPG team is more FO, while the LFU team is more MO? Which group deals with loan syndication?
Not entirely sure what group you are talking about and others may have a better read on the the team and what it does, but I will say if you are talking about the levfin team that used to be part of CMO (before restructuring got rid of this division and merged it with IB), Chris Wood is a cohead of that group and is the absolute man. He recruited me to Citi years ago and clearly wants the best for people. If you are talking about the IRM team (institutional risk management, internal workouts), which I don't think you are, then you may come across the MD John Peruzzi. He is also a fantastic person and boss who genuinely cares about both his people and those who aren't his responsibility.
hello guys have anyone got through this process? I have a case study with these people
Hey, is this for the Analyst position in the London team?
yes man!
