Private placement vs FIG
In fig coverage right now at a BB, trying to break into private credit but struggling to get the first call (had a couple of opportunities with big funds but couldn’t make it all the way to the end). An opportunity to join the debt private placement team in my bank came up, would that be a good opportunity to get closer to pc? I know it’s not as relevant as LevFin but it’s still a credit focused role and the processes they do are pretty similar to TLB/HY just bilateral and not syndicated. What do you guys think?
