Annual raise in research?
Does anyone know if you get an annual raise as a junior person (1st yr analyst through 1st year associate) in equity research at a bulge bracket? Is it $10k? Is the raise when promoted from analyst to associate after 2 years also $10k? Are there any bulge brackets that have frozen salaries?
Also, when is this raise awarded? I know most firms pay bonuses in February, so is the raise not given until February, or do you receive it on January 1?

A friend is in equity research at RBC. He started with 80 base, and just got a 40% bonus for year end. He just got bumped to 90K base.
