I second this. Went through an entire ER super day and received an offer before I left the building without any technical questions or modeling.
I had two offers. One had no modeling test and only had 2-3 technical questions that were super easy (e.g. first line of CFS). The other process included rounds of technical interviews diving into the weeds on accounting and a modeling + writing test.
It boils down to the analyst’s preferences.
