Can’t Deal With MD Senior

Almost half a year as an associate and can't stand my MD, very political, no learning atmosphere, constantly being lashed out on for no reason. On the verge of quitting because of the insanity behind this Analyst since I hit the desk.

If anyone else has similar experience with a shitty MD?

It's always your responsibility to try to resolve a situation like this, because the MDs are too set in their ways.

Here is how I think about this:

  1. Check with the associates who worked for her before, did they have the same issues? Is she just a terrible person?
  2. If she is a terrible person, you know it's 100% NOT your fault. Deal with it while actively plotting your next move.
  3. If her ex-associates did not have as much conflict, ask to sit down and talk about how you (even if it's her fault) can make the working relationship better. Understand the root cause of the conflict - something is not working.

It's the constant condescending and talking down to..

What is the history with their previous juniors? Do those juniors quit or move to other teams? If the senior analyst has a documented history - then you may have some transfer options on the table. Feel it out first.
