I'm finally sitting for Level 3 this June and people have told me that L3 is easier than L2. After running through book 1 and starting book 2, I've found that the Level 3 material is my own personal Dante's Inferno, it is sooo spectacularly boring I can't even force myself to read through the notes anymore. I'd rather take L1 & L2 again than have to read about estate planning, taxes, and trusts.. shoot me in face this is painful!! Any advice from fellow L3 candidates or charterholders on making that switch from very quantitative/formulaic thinking which we was burned into our heads for L1 & L2 to this open-ended subjective and non-linear volume of curriculum? Anything current/former candidates did differently in their study routines, time management, note-taking for L3 vs L1/L2?

No advice but i'm experiencing the exact same thing. I thought level 1 and 2 covered interesting material but this feels like a different subject entirely. Anyways one of my collegues did tell me level 3 was the easiest thing of his life, doesnt feel like it though.
Alright first-- calm down. I'm studying for level 3 currently as well and it's fine. Certainly more fluff and conceptual stuff than Levels 1 and 2 but it's definitely doable. Think of it as your free reading for the next 3 months and get over yourself. Think about how free you'll be in June. Plus you'll never have to study on Memorial Day ever again in your life.

Just get on with it. The CFA hasn't much weight anymore anyway (not dissing, i'm Oreos, CFA big dog), if it was actually fun people REALLY wouldn't respect it.
I'm finished with the Level 3 reading, and I feel the opposite. Besides the GIPS compliance stuff, I think this has been way more pleasant to study for. Nothing approaches how bad the accounting section in level 2 was, or the amount of formulas I had to memorize.
Appreciate everyone's feedback; dryness of the curriculum aside I guess I'm just burnt out between the grind at work and having to study at night. Thanks for the much needed kick in the ass and for the advice to treat it like 'free reading' - definitely helped
