CLSA is many's go-to in sell-side research amongst hedge fund managers I know but not that strong outside of the region I guess.
Very renowned in Asia and has a strong IB side in certain countries. I've worked with ex-CLSAers and they're all smart people. Heard there's been culture problems though with Citic.
There was a big culture change after they were acquired by Citic.
