College Junior Advice

Hey everyone,

I’m new here and been thinking about entering investment banking/equity research. I’m looking for some advice on what field I should move into. I have read a lot and talked to some people in the business already but just seeking more info. Basically I’m in a junior with a 3.0 GPA. I’m very good with research and I really enjoy it, I spend most of my day’s researching companies for fun as I find it interesting. I like predicting what companies are going to succeed and which ones are fail or have bad ideas/products that will fail. However,I don’t have a real good understanding of making financial models and such. I need some advice on what fields to look at or what’s my best route. I do have very good connections into high up people in finance world. Thanks

Wtf does “very good connections” even mean?

Could you be a little more specific, you sound like a non-target freshman after adding his first MD on LinkedIn.

No disrespect, but there are over 30,000 students at Temple, many of whom have high GPA's and are involved with the Owl Fund or whatever the school's investment fund is called. You should probably work on fixing your GPA or doing something to differentiate yourself. Otherwise, switch to an accounting major because the Big 4 will hire damn near anyone and everyone.
