Compensation for Piper Sandler/Cowen/Blair 1st equity research associate?
Curious for what 1st year comp for these upper middle market shops is like and how it would compare to working in research at a BB.

Don't have exact numbers. Based on my survey, Bulge bracket associates are paid ~$10-20k more than middle markets.

Would like to know too. Have an interview at one of those firms coming up, but glassdoor is saying 90k base - 130 for a junior associate. BB pays significantly higher, I think JPM/GS pay is ~110 base
"significantly higher"
Way too focused on the short-term. $10-12k after tax shouldn't be a concern for your first job.
Don't try - and we haven't even divided by 26 pay checks.

Might not be a perfect comp, but I work at another MM and base salary for new hires is $85k. Bonus varies, but should range from $10k-$20k in the first year. I believe this is a discount to what other MM and BB are paying. Have heard some companies paying more for undergrad hires than my company pays for 3 years of experience.
I worked at one of the above firms about a year ago, associate pay ranged from $90-125k base, those receiving 125k base were coming from IB, those on the lower end were new grads/coming from valuations. Bonuses generally ranged from 20%-40%
Two middle markets I have friends at pay 85-100k base, 95-120 all in.
