ER Career Advice

Hey Everyone, first time poster. To introduce myself, I recently started a role as an Equity Research Associate at a small financial publishing firm in the mid-atlantic region. In addition, I graduated from a small liberal arts school last May where I majored in Economics

I'm very grateful for my opportunity considering I came from a small liberal arts college where I didn't even major in finance. That being said, I do eventually want to move to a BB or MM ER position, preferably in the Washington D.C. area. Does anyone have any advice on what I should be doing now to better those opportunities and to make me a better candidate?

Things like should I go MF or MBA. Should I begin working towards my CFA? Anything helps, thanks everyone.
