Sharing my Stock Pitch Report Project with y’all.

Just wrapped up a stock pitch report on Apple (AAPL) — earnings breakdown, valuation analysis, bull/bear case, and visualized the data with charts.

Btw this did this all with the help of Claude ai more specifically with Claude’s (Anthropic’s AI) as a research and drafting partner — pulling real-time earnings data, structuring the analysis, and building out the visuals. Still did the thinking: what to highlight, how to frame the thesis, what risks actually matter.

A good reminder that AI tools are shifting where the effort goes — less time on formatting and data-wrangling, more time on judgment and synthesis.

Sounds like a solid project! Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are a few tips to ensure your stock pitch stands out:

  1. Thesis Differentiation: Clearly articulate why your view on Apple is unique compared to the consensus. Highlight specific insights or angles that others might have overlooked, such as nuanced risks or underappreciated growth drivers.

  2. Valuation Analysis: Ensure your valuation is robust. Use multiple methods like DCF, comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions. For Apple, consider its revenue growth trends, operating margins, and the impact of its iPhone cycles, as discussed in WSO threads.

  3. Bull/Bear Case: Lay out both scenarios with clarity. For Apple, you might explore the potential decline in iPhone-driven revenue growth versus the upside from non-iPhone products or services.

  4. Visuals and Data: Charts and visuals are great, but make sure they are simple, impactful, and directly support your thesis. Avoid overloading with unnecessary data.

  5. Why Now?: Address the timing of your pitch. What makes this an inflection point for Apple? For example, is it the fading iPhone growth cycle or new product launches?

  6. Catalysts: Identify short-term and long-term catalysts that could drive the stock price. For Apple, this could include product announcements, regulatory changes, or shifts in consumer behavior.

  7. Judgment and Synthesis: As you mentioned, AI tools like Claude can handle data-wrangling, but your judgment is key. Focus on framing the narrative and making a compelling argument.

If you’re looking for feedback, consider sharing your pitch with peers or mentors who can provide constructive criticism on both content and presentation style. Good luck, and keep leveraging those AI tools to streamline the process! 🚀

Minor feedback.

Why would you give something a "Rating Basis" you outline as an "analyst consensus"? Is this part of a larger report? Either you write a stock pitch or redo this, maybe as a company profile or primer.

Regardless, where am I supposed to evaluate your analysis if you're tracking consensus so closely you call something a "moderate buy"? Either you have conviction behind the name or not, making something a moderate buy/sell is essentially saying you don't have a strong enough opinion to make an definitive argument.

Speaking for myself, I don't even need your argument to be objectively correct, only that you arrived at it with a sensible process enough to justify a job interview.
