ER Sales vs. Analyst
Does anyone have advice on if equity sales can be a good place to start a career? If I learn good modelling skills in my own time and do CFA level 1 (company sponsor this even for sales grads) will there be opportunities to lateral to buy side roles that are more technical? Literally any opinions will be greatly accepted. Thanks!
Hey mech678, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your thread! Bummer...could just be time of day or unlucky (or the question/topci is too vague or too specific). Maybe one of these topics will help:

Yeah Equity sales guys don't tend to go to investment buyside roles (although it's not unheard of) but often go into buyside IR roles.
Equity sales guys are also frequently ex-ER people. Not so much vice versa but the move is definitely possible if you so wish.
