ER summer associate to market risk full time
I know that most people would never go front office to middle/back office but hear me out.
I am interning this summer in ER at a MM under a highly ranked II analyst, however, I hear almost everyday about how ER is a dying business, and that risk is a new up and coming business. I also like the more quantitative side of risk. I specifically want to work in market risk at a BB.
My question is:
How hard will it be to get a full time offer next fall in market risk at a BB with an equity research internship on my resume but no risk experience. I come from a target school, major in math/stats/computer science type field, and have a 3.4 GPA.
Any insights into this type of transition or anyone that has made it before please let me know what you did and if it was worth it.
boody, hey, look at the bright side, at least you didn't get a ton of monkey shit thrown at you...here is my best guess on threads that might be helpful:
If we're lucky, maybe these professional users will respond: Pabitoz @mt_88" chrispl
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
sounds like a very easy transition
