How reputable is baml?
I am just curious how reputable baml is for equity research. I've seen a lot on this forum about JP etc... but not that much about Merrill Lynch. Is there a reason for that?
Top notch shop. Very good culture. All else equal (e.g. rank, industry, etc), BAML is competitive with any firm, even JPM.
Note - this is for the US.
Also solid shop in Europe from what I've heard from friends in ER/going for ER
And how solid is their IBD arm in London (M&A / Coverage)? How would you rank it including both BB and EB?
Probs GS/MS/JP>BAML>=EBs>Citi>other BBs. EBs may be very strong in one thing but not the other so it depends hence the >=.
Thanks for the reply! Do you have any idea how much someone out of college would make there? I just know IB is around $135,000 and ER is less than that. Is $120,000 realistic?
Probably not, and your IB figure sounds a bit excessive as well.
I thought $85,000 base + $50,000 is pretty common for BB
