Junior Graduating Early w/o experience

I'm a junior with a 3.52 at a nontarget, interned in marketing and developed interest into ER in the fall of my junior year. Graduating a year early and now can't be eligible for internships because of my may 2021 graduation date. I was considering taking a gap year, trying to get all 3 levels of CFA® in what would have been my senior year and applying in the process. I would be dedicating 100% of my time to the CFA® examination. I've been doing the networking and pros have told me I probably have to work somewhere else in financial services for 2 years and apply to an ER position afterwards. Was also considering applying to an MSF this fall at a school with a better network. Any advice on what steps I should take?
