Opened own ER house

Just wanted to brag about opening my own ER house and consultancy.

Drop monkey shit at me rn, one or two years later I will come back to this thread and will either be super successful or be filing for bankruptcy. Either way, I'll have an interesting story to tell.

Thanks! What we have done so far:
Created our own blue-chip index (this market hasn't had any). Partnered with other brokerages to gather their researches in one website in accessible format like many investment-related websites in the US do (this market hasn't had any of that). Started writing articles about this market and about macro & planning to start stock coverage soon - rn we only pull stock data (manually, this market doesn't have any APIs whatsoever....), and put financials and everything about the companies together so that the others would have access to nice data.

Here's something to think about.

I believe that there is an exemption to the separation of banking and research for firms below $5 million in revenue.  Very shady loophole if you think about it but so few research firms would ever qualify under that exemption that it's not a big deal.  But for a starting firm such as yours, you might want to take advantage of that.  Would look into it more for the details.

I had no idea that this was a thing, but that’s fascinating. Not sure how you could become an investment bank with that little revenue though? What kind of deals?

For anyone still following this: we've transformed into a classical investment bank, got into a few deals, now slowly expanding my team. It was really hard along the way and it will only be harder, but I still haven't filed for bankruptcy lol.
