I'm looking for some advice to break into Equity Research. Here's my background: -undergraduate in statistics (2020) -professional background in data science, actuarial science, and financial derivatives -part-time mba at an m7 studying finance/Econ, officer of investment club -hoping to take and pass CFA lvl 1 in November I’ve gotten a ton of mixed responses on how to break into the industry but am unsure on if I need to prepare to do an internship or not. Can anyone provide me with some guidance?

PT MBA students don't have access to OCR no? If your program runs past summer, you can always just apply anyways and see if you can get an interview. If not, as always - network with a good stock pitch and a model, just like everyone else. When both your stock research skills and your soft skills are good enough to a hiring analyst, you should land a role. Otherwise, you need to work on either or both aspects.
