Reach out to Analyst?
I recently went through 3 rounds of an interview process and haven't received a decision. I've met with both directors of research, as well as two analysts with different coverage. My last interview was about 3 weeks ago. I reached out to HR last week and was told that they would speak to the team and get back to me. I haven't heard back. I sent thank you emails to both the analysts and directors of research that I spoke with. Should I reach out to either and ask them if I'm still being considered? Or continue to follow up with HR. For context, I was originally interviewing for one coverage group but two analysts were interested, hence why I'm confused on the apparent ghosting.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you should consider:
Continue Following Up with HR: Since HR is the gatekeeper for communication in this process, it’s best to maintain your follow-ups with them. Politely remind them of your interest in the role and inquire about any updates. A follow-up email or call every 1-2 weeks is reasonable, especially since they mentioned they would get back to you.
Avoid Reaching Out to Analysts or Directors Directly: While it might be tempting to contact the analysts or directors you interviewed with, it’s generally not advisable unless you have a strong rapport with them. Analysts and directors are not typically involved in the administrative side of hiring decisions, and reaching out to them might come across as bypassing the process.
Be Patient but Persistent: Hiring processes, especially when multiple groups are involved, can take time. It’s not uncommon for decisions to be delayed due to internal discussions or other priorities. Keep your communication professional and persistent without being overbearing.
Consider Timing for Follow-Ups: If you’ve already followed up with HR last week, wait another week or so before reaching out again. This ensures you’re not seen as overly pushy while still demonstrating your interest.
By staying professional and maintaining consistent communication with HR, you’ll keep yourself in consideration without risking any missteps. Good luck!

Likely cooked in my opinion
wow hot take
Are you in USA and are you a student?
Did you create a good rapport with one of the juniors? I'd reach out to one of them and ask if there's any major concerns with your background/interview. Knowing what the biggest objections are internally would be helpful.
