Skincare/Grooming Routine
Here to share with you all with my current skincare routine that has been working really well for me. (Tested with my fellow Monkeys in tropical > cold regions)
Step 1. Exfoliate (long week/dull face) optional.
-
Buy a scrubbing glove for your face. Get a charcoal one from Amazon. I tend to exfoliate once every too week.
-
Put on some La Roche Posay peeling cleanser (I prefer the peeling) or any cleanser that you like (it doesn't really matter if it's for exfoliation or not since the glove does the scrubby scrubby already)
-
Scrub.
Step 2. Mild cleanser (lazy days)
- I personally use the normal La Roche Posay Effaclar cleanser for this (it's the non-peeling version that balances your face pH.) to clean before bed and morning when going to work
Step 3. Moisturiser
- imo all facial moisturisers are just normal moisturizer. You can use the same shit for your leg on your face if it's not too moist or icky. I use aloe vera gel for both my face and my hands when it is dry.
OPTIONAL
You can apply SPF when going out to protect your skin against the sun or harsh weather/air.
Step 4. Serums
Retinol - peels your skin but man this shit works with acne and really smooths your skin
Vitamin A/E/C - undull your face
Niamicide - DO NOT USE TOOTHPASTE AS SPOT TREATMENT IT LEAVES SCARS. Use Niamicide.
Caffeine - leave in the office cabinet/bag to spot treat areas that needs some glow
Step 5. Shaving
-
Safety razors or single bladed razors are essential and very cheap to use to shave if you learn how to use it. And you can swap your blades more often and avoid ingrown hair or a bad rashy shave.
-
Aftershave you can use if you feel like it. But if it makes your rashy or red it is best not to do it before work. Use some serum or moisturizer that has antiseptic capabilities. I use my aloe vera gel to cool the shaven area.
Step 6. Hair and Nails
-
My manicurist teached me that after cutting your own nails you must file it if you are gonna touch a lady.
-
Hair (seconding to that Prestigious Hairstyle post) if the hair you ask for is getting a bit bulky and weighted that you seem can't to get that oompf/volume when styling. Visit your barber, or learn how to shed hair "weight" yourself.
-
Eyebrow hair keep it managed and in shape and not like a bridge troll. Search up a bridge troll for comparison.
-
Buy the Manscape thingy too.
Step 7. Going out/Work
-
Eye creams wakes your baggy eyes up
-
Eye brow gel to make your face more groomed
-
Cologne (YSL Y, Dior Homme, Zootopic Tyrannosaurus Rex) spray neck, wrist and chest. No more than 5 sprays please, or I'll cry.
Step 8. You are only going to look as good as your clothes. Get them ironed and dry cleaned. Yes I can smell your musky collar shirt when walking past you down the hall. And your suit sometimes smells like BBQ charcoal. GET THEM DRY CLEANED EVERYMONTH/AFTER BBQ. Or else, invest in an evening jacket.
P/s: I don't really use anything use like night treatments since I believe a routine should be easy to follow and quick to do. Anything that is too excess will get you lazy after 3 days. And this is supposed to be applicable to oily/dry/combined skins.
Or just never wash your face and take accutane. You’ll have absolutely perfect skin and never have to worry about it. Miracle drug. Some have side effects but I had none other than dry lips.
Acutane gives you risk of infertility in females I heard. :/ But don’t know about men.
No it doesn’t, and if that risk is there, its so minute as to be negligible. The risk for females is that if you’re pregnant your baby can be born disabled.
Facts! Finished the treatment in 6 months back in high school and never worried about my face again. Miraculous drug if you ask me
I don't think this is just to prevent sever acne lol
Do you have bad acne? I did when I was a first year and tried the whole routine you mentioned. I even got the prescription benzoyl peroxide treatment which didn't seem to work a 100% as I'd have breakouts in concentrated areas after a while of using it. What I found worked was this:
Everyone's skin is different but I've found for most people the blemishes tend to either disappear by themselves or a simpler regimen of less products can help. YMMV so I'm not offering blanket advice but this is what worked for me.
What moisturizer did you used? And I like drinking milk do you switch to like Oatly or something for your milk intake?
I used the cetaphil one you can find in any drugstore. For dairy I wasn't so hot on milk so it wasn't a big deal but I cut out cheese which was tough when going out to restaurants etc. but had to be disciplined. Oatly etc can help but avoid the processed stuff as much as you can too. If all of that doesn't help your skin then it's likely a genetic thing which you can usually count on disappearing at some point as most people past their mid twenties won't have acne (from experience).
Whole milk doesn't contribute towards acne but skim, 1%, and 2% do.
I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I’ll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
Haha
Wow this routine is gayer than I am
Just tryna get good skin man
You can't underestimate having a balanced diet, getting sufficient rest, and drinking water fellas.
Sunscreen is one of the most essential parts of your skincare routine imo cause UV exposure = looking old
Other than washing my face & using sunscreen in the day, I've been using a multi-purpose moisturizer my friend recommended me and it's done me wonders. No smell, easy to apply, non-greasy, and doesn't clog my pores.
Surprised they're almost sold out but in case anyone's curious on getting it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08X3YX7KJ?ref=myi_title_dp

Hehe
Gf is a dermatologist and this is how I have achieved immaculate skin.
MORNING:
Cerave cleanser : get the bubbly one that seeps into your pores and gets your nasty gunk from last night's bender.
hyaluronic acid: I get mine from the ordinary(usually 5 dollars) then apply it right after cleansing my face. This hydrates your face and makes sure water stays in your skin.
Cerave moisturizer: this is the best moisturizer. It keeps alot of water on your skin and seeps deep down.
Sun screen: I know you don't see the sun but even the slight amount and cause unwanted aging. And know that you're balding you probably need every bit of youth retention.
NIGHT.
Cleanse again because you probably get oily as fuck.
Cerave Pm: this works wonders with your pores in the morning imo. Really thick.
Hyaluronic acid : again putting water in you
Rose hip oil from the ordinary: if you find yourself getting natuarly greasy then you can apply this to balance out your oils and get a cleaner face day in and day out
EVERY OTHER DAY:
Retinoids or adapilin gel at night: this cream is the holy grail of dermatology. This will cure almost anything you may have. This product will literally kill your skin and make new skin. It literally makes me look 2 years younger. Look it up.
Uh don't eat like a fat sack of shit and don't drink so often some sure pointers but I bet you' re a filthy degen so who knows. Coke doesn't clean your skin btw and stop juuling.
Hahaha thx uuuu. Rose hip oil huh? Will look into it. Can you ask your gf about retinols and retinoids? I also use Vitamin C and caffeine for eye. I know that Retinol is Vitamin A/B forgot. Does she approve?

Retinoids are really expensive.. you can ask a .30 potency at a dermatologist but it'll run you 600 a bottle. You can buy the very slight version that's like .5 or .10 At 50 bucks per bottle on Amazon.
You use it like twice a week and the results don't come show until 3-7 months later but it literally removes all your gunk. This is a super simple routine and you can buy almost ALL of it on Amazon. The ordinary also has alot of good routines too if you wanna look then up.
Yeah rose hip oil just makes your face alot less oily over time.
just to get an idea, how much would that cost p.m.?
thanks
The whole routine? It’s around $200 for me with razor blades and stuff since I replenish everything 3 months period.
