BAM's Bridger Program for Associates
New to this.
Can someone add some color on BAM's Bridger Program as a career choice?
I understand this is a 6-month program. But does it make sense as a career choice for a 1st year PE associate?
I am trying to understand prestige, exposure, internal growth, etc.
What are you getting at with "prestige" and "internal growth"
It's a training program afaik
For internal growth I mean, is it worth it to leave a full time PE job to do a 6-month rotational program? What is conversion and how are you integrated into the teams once you join "full time"
For prestige I mean, how are these programs looked from an outside perspective?
I don't know about conversion. Is it worth leaving PE is dependent on whether you're cut out for a hedge fund career I'd imagine. If you want to do this work it makes sense (if not other programs).
Nobody is going to care if you did P72 Academy or Bridger, they're going to care about what PM you worked for and how good you are making $
I agree here. If the chances of you being placed directly on a team after the program aren't high, you are better off recruiting directly for a pod. My team recently hired someone from PE.
Is this targeting PE and IB people?
didn't go through but heard anecdotally - think it's a good program. train you up 6 months, good matchmaking program to assign you to a team that fits what you want to do etc. that 6 months counts as work experience so you hit the ground running at a pod and can get promoted "seemingly" faster. you'll get the requisite training and mitigate the error portion of trial and error that's necessary in any new team you join they seem to oddly have a preference for ex SS research people though. feel like that covers exposure and career progression. on prestige: dude cmon man, if at this point you haven't realized that thinking about "prestige" is stupid and completely misses the point, you're ngmi. Carve your own path of prestige by just being fkn good stop relying on external titles and gold stars to fuel your self worth. assess career options on its merits and risk/reward of financial compensation and agency. stop being a college kid in your head
How different is Bridger vs Point72 Academy?
I think Bridger people are generally more experienced? even compared to the p72 experienced academy. also i think the p72 academy is open to even non IB, SS ER people prior experience, where as brdiger is more specifically ss er or ib. honestly no clue, all of this is anecdotal what i've heard from friends
Might be a dumb question but is there a certain time of year the program is available? Trying to find more information about it on their website and linkedin but cant find an application anywhere.
