Built a Wordle for Stocks (Wallstreetle), and wanted to know if finance students and professionals would play it

Hi all, I first posted this on Reddit on r/FinancialCareers and people said to post it on WSO

Made a Wordle for Stocks, Wallstreetle, and want to know if finance professionals and students would actually play it

I built Wallstreetle as a way to discover new stocks daily and have a bit of fun comparing guesses with friends and coworkers. I know stock-guessing games exist already, but I wanted something that gives useful qualitative hints and real financial metrics that analysts would actually look at.

If you work in finance, I’d really love to know: is this the kind of thing you’d play in the office or on your commute?

There are even leaderboards so you can compete with colleagues across teams or desks.

Current metrics included:

I also include qualitative hints like Public Recognition, Industry Position, Founder & CEO, and Products & Services.

There are five categories (Household Name, WSB, Tech, Pharma, Foreign) and they reset daily, so it’s meant to be a quick daily puzzle you can knock out when markets are closed or during downtime.

If you work in finance, I’d genuinely appreciate your thoughts.

Would you play this? Would your colleagues? What metrics or hints would make it more appealing or more analyst-friendly.

Just some additional context:

I'm an indie-dev with a degree in Finance and previously worked as an actuary. I first asked a friend of mine who recently made Partner at his Hedge Fund to play this game and he loved it. But he also said he is so busy that he wouldn't have time to play it. So maybe this game is more for the juniors? What do you guys think?

i've seen a wordle for song/album/artists and the hints for those are so niche but they're Ws. Maybe make a ticker one, but then branch off and make a name in finance [undergrad, fun facts, idk] and etc. And tbh the tickers might not even need a hint other than mcap and ath and for the academic feeling a line item or smth.

Originally it was just tickers, but when testing it with professionals, they found it too difficult. So it's hard balance between wanting the general population to still be able to play and learn from the game and making it challenging enough to be fun. Thank you for the feedback though!
