CFA for MM Out of Undergrad
Hi,
I will be starting after this academic year in the summer of 2021 as an analyst at a MM HF out of undergrad. I am curious on the value of a CFA and if it is worth my time to take the first level in Feb. and potentially push my FT start date till fall to pass the first two levels.
Questions: Is it worth taking the CFA if my plan is to stay at this MM for as long as possible and make it to PM? Is it more valuable when trying to find another HF job is my current firm doesn't work out?
Haven't seen many posts about the value of a CFA when already at a HF, most of the info is more about using it to move from sell-side to buy-side. Any input is appreciated.
No for MM and making PM. Yes for long onlys because it helps with branding and fund raising, not because of investing skills.
Great, thanks
No one gives a flying f*** about the CFA at hedge funds
