College Major for HF out of undergrad

Im a Stanford student deciding between an Econ major vs Data sci (w/ quantitative finance track). Which would be better if i was optimizing for HF out of undergrad and trying to get a solid junior HF internship? Appreciate any advice.

Your undergrad major is a way of signaling "I'm smart." You have already done that by getting into the best school in the world, so well done. With that in mind, I would still go with Data Science because it signals that you're even smarter. You should have no problem getting HF out of undergrad with either though.

Data science might be useful for macro funds and prop shop roles.

For the big 3 L/S programs either will be fine.
