Full time recruiting as a May 2027 grad

Hi everyone, currently a rising junior studying math and CS as a double major, primarily interested in doing pod analyst work specifically with alternative data and using data science methods on L/S teams. Also interested in sell side quant work having to do with pricing and risk, but quant strats at a good bank desk are also really interesting to me.

I basically shit the bed this cycle for hedge fund / sell side quant internship recruiting, since I had a really late start after doing tech recruiting for a long time, then coming back to my interest in trading and research. Got some looks via interviews, case studies, selective assessments, etc. from multi-managers, a big market maker, a bank, and some second tier quant firms, but ultimately nothing moved to an offer.

There's a lot of banking stuff here but didn't see too much information on full time recruiting for hedge funds or sell side quant. Safe to assume that the full time cycle is just much harder than internships. Wondering if anyone who's gone through the process has any advice for placing full time roles at either of the two mentioned above?

yeh citadel takes SDA interns and p72 does (calls it like international sector analyst or sm) asw

these roles are exactly as u describe - u work with alt data and provide insights to fundamental l/s pods and to make it clear - u do not work in a pod so don’t make any trading decisions/ have a pnl etc

tend to be a lot easier and less competitive to get in than quant/trading roles and can still be interesting work

ull get asked standard data sciencey type interview questions
