HF comp after 2 years PE
What does HF comp look like after 2 years IB + 2 years UMM/MF PE?
Curious how much this differs by type of fund.

One data point: earlier this year I moved to a large SM after 2 years IB + 2 years PE (ignore my title, haven't updated it for the new role). I was quoted $400 - $600k all-in depending on personal + fund performance. Pretty big range, but felt like a fair offer at the time. Would be curious to hear other data points.
What have hours/lifestyle been like?
Hours have been about the same as PE, but some of that is self-imposed since I am ramping up and want to do well. Also, even with the same hours I have a lot more control over my time (post-market close) whereas in PE I was subject to deal-team deliverables/timelines
this is fair data point. was around 500 in same position a year ago.
there is a fairly wide range though. the larger the fund, generally the better the comp. but of course fund dependent, performance dependent, etc.
the smaller SM funds might be more like 300-350.
Mind sharing how comp has scaled since then?
Any idea how comp will scale with performance?

Base 700,1350k seriously?I thought HF dont really have significant base raise regardless of how senior you are...thats crazy
Could u comment on bonus structure for analysts at these funds (in year like this vs 2020)
Plenty of funds paying big bases. Over average however, expect a base of $125-$175 with that experience.
Definitely understandable and palatable. Was more curious about all-in. Is that just completely dependent on fund performance or is there a range all in comp typically shakes out to as well?
At this level the P&L linkage is low, which is the right approach IMO. If the fund does well, there could be upside beyond $300 but that is entirely dependent on the PM.
I can add a data point. I just joined a $500MM SM with $175k base, $125k quoted full year bonus (with no linkage to P&L). This is fresh out of 2 years in IB though, so expected a step down from 2+2 candidate offer.
Kind of interesting there's no linkage to PnL. Similar to PE
surprised at how large some of these figures are relative to value add. would take most people at least a year to build coverage and then another before knowing what theyre doing. figured 125-175 base w discretionary bonus so maybe like 300-400 depending on book performance and generosity of pm. i'm at a MM fwiw
