How to actually break into the field?

So I have literally no experience in the financial industry.. There got that out of the way. However, I do have plenty of experience handling financial information, albeit not equity related, at least in a professional sense.

My undergrad degree is not related to finance, but I am going to graduate school for my Masters in Accounting & Finance. Problem is what do I do with it once I finish? I'd love nothing more than to get into some type of HF, but I'm not naive and I know that's hard to do.

Where can I start though? What are some positions that I should be looking into so I can gain the right experience so that I CAN work at a HF someday. I'd really love to be an analyst, but I know they don't just hand those positions out to be people without proving themselves, so I guess that's ultimately my real question.. How do I prove myself? What entry level positions are out there to prove myself?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm open to a variety. Long-only funds, Short-only funds, emerging market funds, macro funds.. I wouldn't want to limit myself.
