How to describe investing philosophy to LO value fund?

Of course the obvious speak is "I like to buy high-quality businesses that have historically compounded shareholder value during times of price dislocation because of temporary headwinds or broader market fears". It's the truth, and nearly all of my best investments have been made on this principle, but I feel like anyone can say this. How can I go about describing my value investing philosophy in better words?

I recommend starting your answer to that from horizon.

  • I typically look at x, y, z type of opportunities to come to fruition ideally in # of years. How you structure your sell discipline logically based on your initial description of opportunities you seek to reap from the stock market, is also very important. This can also lead you to elaborate on OW/UW sector tendencies and that you know so much about sectors you OW.

in a LO fund, if you're underweight a sector, is that sort of a way for them to be short the sector? I know they're not actually short, but for them to gain the spread between their OW and UW, would that be the same as gaining the spread in a L/S fund where the spread between longs and shorts is usually profit?
