IP when leaving a firm
I am a quant PM in a MM shop running a global book.
I have resigned from the firm. In the contract, there is a part where I need to leave my IP.
Q1. What happens if I am not cooperative - e.g., they ask me to explain every single process, alpha, and steps. The contract says I need to leave my IP but it does not say anything about explaining them one by one. Can they take legal actions for me not being cooperative? But again, I am leaving all code, data and signal.
Q2. I want to sue the firm for not delivering what was promised. Can I still sue them despite these not being in actual contract? (e.g., verbal and in trails of emails)
Appreciate your thoughts.
Spend the $1000 on a lawyer.
Leave IP means not downloading stuff to a USB drive or sending it to your personal email.
As for the legal question, are you going to have WSO crowdwrite the complaint? Don't be cheap and get yourself a lawyer.
