Based on the most helpful WSO content, Long/Short Equity Prop Shops are firms that use their own capital to trade in equities, both long and short. They make their profits from the price movements of the stocks they trade in.

However, the specifics of how these funds work and examples of such firms aren't detailed in the WSO Dataset I have. It's important to note that the strategies and operations can vary widely from one prop shop to another.

For more detailed information, I'd recommend exploring more specific threads on WSO or reaching out to professionals in the field. They could provide more insights into the workings of L/S Equity Prop Shops and give examples of such firms.

That’s not long/short lol

the equity analysts just help the traders understand how news flow is impacting spreads and prices. Its not a fundamental long/short role

No, it's not as skewed to the upside as traders. The larger ones (e.g. CitSec was early in this) have good measures of tracking analyst alpha so have wider ranges of analyst comp, but generally at the junior level I've seen ~200-300k out of school, ~4-500k at sr analyst level, 750-1mm as a sector head/team lead.
