Need advice - Attempting to Career Switch into IAR @ RIA Firm

Hello all.  Bit of an unorthodox background.
-Mid 30's.
-I have been traveling the world the last 10yrs (living in about 100 countries), working remotely as a bookkeeper for a small co. in my hometown, in the US..........and also locally as a scuba instructor.
-I have a masters in accounting from the U. of Illinois (which is generally ranked as the 2nd best accounting program in the world), and an undergrad in History from the U of Michigan.

My goal, as I said, is to become an IAR (Investment Advisor Representative) at an RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) firm.

I have no interest in living in the US, and want to work 100% remotely.  I know this will result in lower pay, less advancement, etc.  I don't care.  I live a pretty minimalist life, generally in cheap places.  Any decent salary is fine.

My plan is to...
-1) Knock out my CPA now.  I think I could do that within 6 months.
-2) Try to get my foot in the door at an RIA firm with that, in whatever remote position I can find for a CPA.  I have a friend at a regional firm who I think could help me land something with a CPA.  And like I said, I could really care less about starting salary...even at an intern-level...as long as I'm getting experience.
-3) Get my CFA.  I think I could do that within 2 yrs.
-4) Transition to an IAR role at the firm...in whatever position I can remotely.  Even at this point...I'd be more than happy with an average salary if I was able to continue living abroad.

Just wanted to get some advice from the board.  Is my plan stupid?  Am I crazy?  Am I missing anything important?  Do you see me running into any problems?

With a CPA/CFA and a little experience...I think I could find a remote position with a RIA firm at a decent wage.  I could even add an MBA and a CFP if that'd be worth it.

THANK YOU, So much, really, in advance, for any comments, advice, anything.
Best.
