Based on the most helpful WSO content, here’s what you need to know about the Point72 Academy full-time process:

  1. Case Study:

    • You’ve already received the case study, which typically involves building a full financial model and preparing a 5-page pitch on a stock they assign.
    • Focus on creating a well-structured and detailed model, ensuring your assumptions are logical and supported by data.
    • For the pitch, emphasize a clear investment thesis, key drivers, risks, and valuation. Make it concise but impactful.
  2. Interview Rounds:

    • First Round: Pre-recorded video interview. This often includes behavioral questions like "Why would you succeed?" and critical thinking questions such as "How to improve a product."
    • Second Round: Case assignment or interview, depending on availability. This could involve discussing your case study or tackling additional technical/critical thinking questions.
    • Third Round (Super Day): A more intensive day with multiple interviews. Expect a mix of behavioral, technical, and case discussions. Programming and data-related questions might also come up, as the program includes data science training.
  3. Program Highlights:

    • The Academy provides 2,800 hours of training over 8 months, covering investment banking, consulting, data science, and more.
    • The first 6 months focus on fundamental research, followed by rotations with the portfolio management team in months 7-8.
    • The program boasts an 89% placement rate, with 68% of PMs being homegrown.

Tips for Success:

  • Preparation: Brush up on financial modeling, valuation techniques, and market trends. Use resources like WSO’s financial modeling courses if needed.
  • Behavioral Questions: Be ready to articulate why you’re a good fit for the program and how your skills align with Point72’s goals.
  • Critical Thinking: Practice solving open-ended problems and presenting structured solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure your case study and pitch are polished, with no errors in calculations or formatting.

Good luck with your interview process!

Is the case study round selective? Turned in mine last week. Anyone know long it takes to hear back after submitting?

similar question -- submitted my case study last week, wondering timeline from here.

also what is the level required on the model? my model had a few small mistakes ngl (some things got hardcoded in on accident) that i didnt catch till after). also upside was only about 18% haha.
