PIMCO Alternative Investments / Distressed Comp, Culture, Strategy, Etc.
PIMCO’s high yield credit/corporate distressed team manages funds with a private equity structure and focuses on investing in corporate opportunities across stressed/distressed corporate bonds and bank loans, direct lending, rescue financings, post-reorg equity, and other illiquid corporate securities.
Was wondering if anyone had any additional information about this team within PIMCO. Do they operate as a hedge fund and have a hedge fund fee structure?
If so, how does this fund compare to other Distressed/Credit funds, and is the analyst comp/culture comparable?
Any thoughts or knowledge on this?

They manage across multiple funds that have varying structures but their approach is similar to that of other large distressed shops. You will see them as a leader on creditor committees in restructurings and given their size the deals they tend to focus on are larger in nature. Not 100% on the comp aspect of it but PIMCO does pay well overall
Anyone know which headhunters work with PIMCO?

Incoming SA in said group. The internship is a rotation between private distressed debt and special situations (private equity) investments. Base is $100K, high fee structure, and no need for MBA to get to PM. Feel free to ask any questions.
Do you happen to know what target bonus is for analysts?
Also any idea what base is for A2, A3, ASO1, ASO2, ASO3?
Heard they raised base originally to match BB/EB increases. Any idea on the bonus structure?
can u pm me?
Any clue on PM bonus structure?
Are all interns in this group doing rotations?

PIMCO pays notoriously less than any distressed debt HFs. You go there for Newport lifestyle
