When a hiring manager questions your quantitative ability what's the best response
I majored in Econ and honestly wasn’t that good at math, but I completed all the math requirements, which are fairly hard since my alma mater is a prestigious research university with a heavy emphasis on natural sciences (it’s non-target though—maybe that’s why I got asked), so I was a bit surprised when a HF hiring manager asked how good my math was, given my Econ background.
I explained that I'm no stranger to calculus and statistics, and I considered offering to solve some quick math problems if he was really concerned, but he moved on to the next topic, so I didn’t follow up.
I’m not sure if my answer was good enough though, so I’d like to ask for people’s opinions on how best to respond if this kind of question comes up again (seems likely in future HF interviews).
