Why do people think they're so great here?

I see a lot of people who are HF partners or PMs in their 30s who made a small sum of money and think they're so awesome and did it all by themselves - are you kidding me? These people almost never accept or realize the role of luck or fortune in their short career spans and think they are masters of the universe. It's almost comical, but if you were born in Africa or Afghanistan you wouldn't amount to shit, so start putting your head down and showing some gratitude. Stop asking dumb shit questions like what's the compensation of the partners or how much millions you have. Start thinking what you can do for others. Too many entitled dumb ass pricks here on the HF forum of WSO.

"If hypothetically you were born into a scenario where this career path doesn't exist then you would be living a different life, so be grateful" - how shockingly profound, you should write fortune cookies.

Nobody here (or anywhere barring a charity) cares what some kid in Africa strives for. Just like you don't care what a random kid you don't know from an island in the Pacific or the ghetto of LA is up to right now. Everyone is the main character in their own life, with no time or reason to worry about what all the other NPCs they've never met and never will meet are trying to accomplish. Instead of following your own advice you choose to dump on people coming to a professional forum for asking work-related questions, insisting they should instead ask what they can do for the rest of the world. In reality, you're only posting because it gives you self-righteousness little chub to pretend for a few seconds you're not just as self-interested as everyone else. Let the the door hit you on the way out.

Compensation Of Ballerest Partner Of The Awesomest Fund In A Great Year?
Hi guys, just curious what would be the bonus of the ballerist partner at the ballerest fund in a great year, say >35% return? By ballerest fund, I mean a fund like Renaissance Technology, Baupost, ARK Invest, Tiger Global, Coatue, or Ruane Cunniff & Goldfarb (RCG)? Just trying to understand career options and upside, thanks in advance!

RenTech Base Salary & Bonus In The Good Year
What would be the base salary at RenTech for a first year researcher/analyst, and bonus in a good year (assuming Medallion Fund returns)?
