1st-year Analyst Asking For A Weekend Of WFH

I am going to be working as a 1st-year analyst at an EB very soon in NY, and I was wondering after working there for a month or two if it's acceptable to ask every once in a while to WFH for a weekend? The reason why is that I want to spend a little bit of time with my GF in Washington, D.C. We've been long-distance for a while and both have very busy careers so I am not worried about the IB lifestyle interfering with our relationship. My firm is currently all in-person and the people there seem pretty chill. I would only be planning on doing this once every 1-2 months.

Wouldn't even ask honestly... just go down on weekends where you can foresee it being chill. DC is one of the easiest cities to get to since there's the Acela.

You're going to have to have some flexibility, there will be Friday nights you'll get underwater and have to cancel last minute, or Sundays that you'll have to get on a train first thing, but most of the time this is doable. Recommend getting a good laptop and an extra screen to keep at her house since models are tricky on a laptop.

Just work remotely anyway and if they press you on it say that you're extremely concerned about the omicron variant and want to prioritize your family's safety. Worst case scenario if you're fired you have a huge HR lawsuit on your hands. Nobody would dare to countermand you if you're bold enough.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
