It feels like they are significantly smaller- does anyone think this means they open up applications again in the fall if the m&a market picks back up?

Probably not, banks would rather hire analysts so they can hit the desk right away, not wait for 2024 summer to start so we can probably fuck up every assignment that comes our way

as above, also feels smaller class sizes + timelines were faster for SA.

but can anyone in-the-know substantiate this? for instance, are classes 80-90% smaller relative to previous years?

definitely not 80-90% but i’m guessing 30-40%, just based upon the fact that almost no nondiversity kids at my target got top BB offers (ie. no room left)

Diversity recruiting was very good at my school. Seems like everyone has picked up the recruiting cheat code.  Non-Diverse was tough.

Ya same with my school, diverse students placed well, but non diverse is looking semi tough rn

In Energy Coverage and our hiring has been the same ~10 summer analysts

Centerview correct? I heard their class size is much bigger according to people at my target school (they only took 1)

According to analyst alum from my school, should be around 30–same as 2023
