Out of your control, so not worth thinking about.
Nothing you can do about it except be the best intern possible. Yes would assume lower return rates though, they over hired interns drastically compared to current deal flow. Just means you have to be an elite intern and prove that you deserve the return offer!
i thought overhiring was primarily SA 2026? or did sa 2025 also overhire after the reopening of alot of places
The best few interns of every class will get a return in nearly every scenario possible. Just be in that cohort and you'll be fine. Simple as that.
Heading to an EB, and realized the firm never actually had an over hiring issue so I am not that worried. However, how can you be one of the best interns when everyone is MF PE full-send hardos? I am doing all the prep works too, but feel like it will be pretty hard to set myself apart.
According to my calculations, around 69.42% for EBs given they want you the return. 42.69% for BB dragged down by banks like JPM that for some reason always hire FT. Hopefully this gives you the peace of mind you need
