3.2 GPA: Should I still try for a full-time position at BB IBD?

I'm an econ major with a 3.2 GPA at a top-10 USNWR school. I got dinged at all of the BB's and the good bulk of MM banks I interviewed at last recruiting season. With my GPA, could I still have a shot at full-time investment banking analyst jobs at the bulge brackets?

My experience includes the following:
2 PWM internships (summer after senior year of high school, then summer after freshman year of college)
1 MM ibanking internship (summer after sophomore year)
1 Venture Capital and Business Development Internship (summer after junior year)

I also have had some noticeable leadership experience on campus.

Yes. Having IB experience will speak louder than a GPA ever would (if you did well in your experience anyways). Your GPA will probably cause an issue going through traditional channels of recruiting (i.e. online application), but if you network well, you will find someone will at least give you an interview.

Also, stay confident in yourself. You always have a shot if you believe you do. Don't let what happened in the past dictate what happens in the future. Since you have already interviewed with some of the banks you are looking at, reach out to the interviewers and find out what went wrong and what caused them to make a "No" decision on you. It is a great way to reconnect with someone, show your interest in their firm, and show how you have either corrected something they found wrong or made yourself a better candidate and a better fit for the firm. This is also a good place to start networking since you already have some history with them.

Best of luck!

Don't be such a defeatist loser. Anyone who asks the question "should I even try..." is destined for failure. If you want something, be a man and go take it. If you need to fucking ask people on the internet if you're capable of achieving it in order to believe that you are, therein lies the problem.

Grow a sack. If you want something, take it. Don't ask anyone's permission.

Then again... that how I became a convicted sex offender. So handle with care.

This is so true. Anything can happen in the recruitment process and so to be hesitant to begin it and seek reassurance from others before you apply is a problem. Even with the description OP gave, there could be a million other factors that can help/hurt OP's chances of getting BB IBD and no one can properly advise you on if you should apply or not.

OP, what do you have to lose besides a couple of minutes of your time to apply? Instead of spending time making a post about if you should apply, you could have applied and reached out to your connections to get their help. There are so many things in the world that you cannot control, why limit yourself by letting others tell you if/when you should apply for a job? When in doubt, just apply and hope for the best.

I'm pretty sure I know what school you're at. I think you absolutely have a shot, if not BB then at an MM. The alumni network is definitely there. I've found the MBA grads to be very helpful.
