AGC Partners FT 2021
Hey guys, I had applied for the 2020 summer internship program almost a year ago and didn't make anything out of it. Recently got an email for a technical assessment for full-time recruiting. Any idea how it goes?

Not sure about the assessment, but have heard horror stories about AGC. Proceed with caution
Second this
Heard similar stories. Absolutely horrible culture in the sense that seniors have no respect for your time
why is ft recruitng so early damn
Has anyone taken the assessment yet?
I took the assessment. Does it guarantee like a first round for sure?
I took the assessment like three weeks ago. Supposedly phone interviews start this month but I haven't heard anything since.
Same here. I haven’t heard anything as well. But I do recommend to have caution.
For sure, I'm not worrying too much about it though I do wish we got updates soon.
are you guys nontargets? even FTP is miles above agc. i think keybanc might even top agc too
Gigantic red flag for this place. It is the only bank I say this for. The culture is absolutely toxic and from everything I've heard, the worst out of any known bank. They scrape up non-competitive deals so there is very solid flow which is good for experience, but otherwise I would avoid. There are plenty of horror stories and the CEO and upper management go out of their way to make the culture worse. Most analysts leave in under a year.
Prior to this year this would’ve been dead on accurate. However, I’ve spoken with a few of the analysts (first years going into year 2 with no intention of leaving for a year) in the class and they all say that there has been a significant positive shift in the culture and that the horror stories are largely in the past.
My reasoning for this is that since the firm-wide culture shift, ALL of the analysts that graduated a year ago are staying on to finish year two, they are bumping up intern pay to street average, there’s a solid comradery among the class and they feel like they’re having a great impact on improving the junior experience of the firm. just my $.02
I can confirm this is not true and the culture is still horrible
Are they bumping up analyst pay too? I remember that being awfully low. I have still heard bad things from an almost direct source so not sure how much things really changed...
I have nothing against them, I'm just spitting facts.
Then why do i get networking emails from AGC employees all the time?
Pay is well below street and they're the only bank I know of that has a firm policy for mandatory weekend facetime. Even if deal flow is slow, you're still required to come in on Saturdays.
I scheduled a first round here for my SA but ended up canceling once I got a better offer. Would 100% avoid if you have anything else remotely close to an IB offer at another firm, but people from AGC actually do lateral to decent shops after a year.
You’re basically giving up a year to work like a dog for shitty pay with hopes of a lateral chance. It’s not a great situation and I certainly would never choose to work here, but if you don’t land an offer anywhere else and are dead set on IB this can be a fall back option.
I also just had an awful experience with recruiting. Go to a target and had someone email me out of the blue to set up a first round interview (I never applied, no idea how they found me or knew I wanted IB). Sent back some times. Someone responded like 3 weeks later saying send your resume, I sent it, they then said they had received my application and would be in touch if I was selected for a first round (I literally never applied, they just emailed me saying they wanted to interview me). A few weeks later got an email that I was selected for a first round, I responded with some times for scheduling, didn’t hear back for another month. By the time someone actually sent me an interview time it was more than 2 months after their initial outreach and I’d already gotten another offer. Can’t imagine trying to deal with this place from beginning of recruiting process to the end, seemed like a completely disorganized mess.
Spot on. The transactional experience itself is not the bad part--they do actually have high volume. It is just the question of if you can/want to power through time there dealing with such an abyssal culture. If a kid who worked there reached out to me, I'd have respect just for him/her having the strength to deal with that.
Can confirm. I personally know two kids who worked there, both left in under a year. Two of the hardest working kids I know. They said they were unable to get time off when sick (seriously ill, like puking), couldn't even wfh for a day. Boston office is an absolute sweatshop. Do not go here.
Anyone get a first round yet?
I just heard today that I got one, to be scheduled in August.
Got a first round. 1st week of august
First round? Isn’t it hirevue —> superday?
Those with 1st rounds, did you just submit resume through handshake? I am curious since the application deadline says July 20th for my school.
I literally just submitted my Resume online? No ocr
I know for a fact that intern pay is still the same/not what the street pays. Interns get $2000 each month. Does anyone know what starting Analyst salaries are?
Base is 65k I believe.
Did anyone receive a time for first round interview? I sent my availability and haven't heard back
I haven't either. I guess they're scheduling?
How difficult was the IB concepts exam?
Was pretty hard. Learn about SaaS models
Can you further elaborate?
Anybody hear back with a time?
After you all completed the online quiz, how long did it take you to hear back about scheduling a call?
Yet to hear back
I had heard from recruiting that they would aim to send dates out by end of last week, but I didn't hear anything back after that. Hope they let us know soon.
Same. I haven't heard anything. I sent my availability like 4 weeks ago.
Hey guys has anyone heard back with a scheduled time?
Hey guys. Anyone got a time for a call?
Bump. Has anyone heard back yet about a time?
Bump. Time anyone?
Nope, nothing for me.
^^Did none of you read this thread?
Lol I was thinking the same thing. Literally jumped from this place fucking blows to so who got a first round.
Did anyone get the Early Decision application process email? Reading a lot of these comments makes me hesitant to continue...
did you have the first round with them yet?
No I haven't, my last communication was me sending my availability in July.
No I haven't, my last communication was me sending my availability in July.
FWIW, I spoke with the recruiter for summer internships a few days ago. She said they are a bit behind schedule and working on FT now and then mid September plan on beginning the intern process
Does anyone who works at AGC know what’s going on with recruiting? It’s been almost a month since I’ve heard anything
I have a second round interview coming up this week. Anybody else in a similar boat?
When did you hear back from AGC scheduling it? Did you reach out to them or did they reach out to you?
Read all the comments above, does not seem uncommon for things to be a little out of place when it comes to AGC.
My second round interview is at the end of this week.
After waiting like two months to hear back about scheduling a first round interview I just got an email that I’m a “a very strong candidate” and all that but that I’m not going to get an interview. What a joke.
