Alpha Capital Holdings - scam
Was looking for any and every investment banking opportunity on ZipRecruiter. Applied to a place called Alpha Capital Holdings. Not only is their internship unpaid, but they want you to pay $850 to pay for “training materials”. This is ridiculous, I can’t believe they’re exploiting people’s dreams of working on Wall Street like this, looks like they’re targeting Chinese students too because it says they’re looking for people with mandarin experience and using wechat. Is anyone familiar with them? Are they a scam?
Isn't this the one by Jack Bloom? I think there's a couple of threads about them on WSO https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/internship-with-boutique. Definitely very sketch. I think people only go for things like these if they absolutely can't get a regular boutique internship and want a resume booster (but even that is questionable since the name is already quite negatively associated). If you want some relevant experience and can't get one at a local boutique, just go find a searchfund to work for. A lot of searchfund founders were MBAs/ex-bankers who can be great resources.
The logo looks like it was terribly made on MS paint.
Interesting to see that they have prior interns from name brand schools.
