Am I blacklisted from JPM?

Hi,

I was wondering if I am maybe blacklisted from JPM. I applied several times for different internships but with 2-3 Dayish I always get rejected.

I dont think it's due to my lack of work experience since I worked at EB"s before. The only possible reason I could imagine, is that I applied for an internship in my gap year (so i dont first the requirements that I have to be in my undergraduate)

Could anyone share any thoughts on this?

Note: This applies for German office

No one here can tell you that.

Maybe stop applying to everything that comes on the job portal and apply to some other banks. You may not have the right stuff.

It doesn't matter that you have experience with EBs, other people may have better experience or grades or connections.

You're not guaranteed a spot anywhere.

Have you networked with people at the bank and tried to get a referral? Tried to get HR to actually look at your resume?

The quick rejections likely mean your resume isn't getting through the screen because it's poorly written or not what they're looking for.

Yea bro he just called the fucking CEO and asked him about ur username and that was that.

Also, I just got off the phone with the CEO of finance and mentioned your username — hate to break it to you, but turns out you’re unfortunately blacklisted from any finance role at all :((

I’ll reach out to Jeff at Amazon and try to gauge your status there too, I’ll let you know bro. :(

For reference:

I applied for SA in FFM and for off cycle.

My university ends this year, so I was planning on doing both during my gap year. However then I wanted to do a master which I could boy fill in the application form.

Hence I thought that I was either rejected because of this, or since I was blacklisted, or because all the spots have been filled

Na I was just confused since I thought given that I had EB experience I would be a stellar applicant since many interns just had a spring week at some other shop but not a full time internship

By gap year do you mean you already graduated / will graduate before the specified time? (i.e. it says you must graduate between December 2023 and June 2024, and you graduate in June 2023) Or does it ask "are you an undergraduate" and you answer no? If so this is an automatic rejection. No one will ever see your application (true for most banks, they just don't send rejection letters)

If your gap year is in between years at college, you should find a regional bank or small IB that you can network into - big banks don't like having unusual school circumstances

Yes I am currently finishing my bachelor's degree. I was planning on doing a master and wanted to work for one year inbetween.

So I do not fit into their specified date range

Yeah you need to find a job by emailing and getting people to meet for coffee then - know it's less common in the EU, but doing that at a small boutique would be the best route, and you can likely propose to work for 6-12 months rather than just the 10 week internship at a BB anyway. You will not fit any of the big banks' application criteria if the grad dates are off, it's a binary yes/no for the internships unfortunately
