Am I screwed after PIP?

Just was placed on a PIP, is this the new soft and quiet RIF? Lateral and overall job market sucks right now, do I try and claw back into their good graces or jump ship?

Do what you need to do to survive until you can lateral.

If you're on a PIP it's usually a step in making someone redundant / firing them.

Jump before you are pushed.

100% agree with the above comments. Once you are placed on PIP you need to find a new job ASAP.

I've seen people get placed on PIP before, a lot of times for legitimate reasons, but it's near impossible to bounce back. The reason is people will be overly critical of your work and point out mistakes. You will have to put in tremendous effort over a long period of time to change people's perception of you and it is just a lot easier to move to a new firm and start fresh.

Congratulations! Did they say why you’re being placed on a PIP and how did you get off it?
