Amazing referral but lacking GPA

I used to work valet at a nice hotel. There I met a very inspiring man, whom I will not name. He is famous and worked in the industry. He has become a friend of mine and now he has been referring me to people he used to work with because I told him what I was interested in.

However, I decided to work more than I should've last quarter and got straight C+'s in 3 major related classes. I am going to be a senior, and I quit my job to focus on raising my GPA to the best of my ability. Currently, my GPA is a 2.84 and major is a 2.5. I am going to be taking summer classes that I hope will raise my GPA.

Furthermore, The man that this secret person referred me to has now asked me for my GPA. How do I break it to him without messing up my shot?
