Analyst Experience
Maybe I am way off base, but it seems to me that the analyst experience at most BB banks are very similar. Please correct me if I'm wrong. As a result, when choosing a bank and or group what are some of the most important things to consider besides deal flow, people and exit ops?
Also, is the experience at a boutique or a middle market bank that different from a BB?
Thanks in advance
I agree with above. Essentially, the most important things to consider are deal flow, people/fit with the team, exit ops, and whether you are interested in the product/industry. I mean, you are going to be worked like a dog, for the most part, regardless, and the material you learn will be pretty similar - granted, product groups will usually do more modeling, industry groups generally more pitching - but this is the norm not required - in many banks, several industry groups do most of their own modeling - just depends on the group and the bank. I mean, you've glossed over those characteristics pretty quickly, so I'd advise you to take another look at them and put some time in before casting them off as quick checkboxes.

I understand how important these things are and have thought long and hard about them. I just want some reassurance that I'm making my decision based on the right things and not forgetting any important considerations.
