Anyone else hate when Associates / VP's review work they spam "WHY?"

Maybe call me a pussy - but I hate the use of WHY when reviewing work.

"WHY is this logo on page 3 not 4"

"WHY is this number not ___"

"WHY did you put this slide before this slide"

"WHY is this cell linking this cell"

"Why is this not bolded?"

Like when I was an analyst 2 giving comments to my analyst 1's and interns, I'd always say like this should go here, this number should be this, this page order should be this, hey this cell should link this cell", etc.

Like when they say WHY is this like this - I was obviously wrong and made a mistake, I didn't do this on purpose lol. So aggressive for no reason. Call me soft again, idk.

most associates and VPs are terrible leaders.

the issue is they know the answer to these questions "Why is this word spelled wrong here in the footnote?"  obviously it was just a mistake/typo.

The other egregious thing is when people comments (usually more senior) rhetorically.  "What if we redid the analysis for this company?"   "Does this make sense?"  "Should we show it this way?  Perhaps we do another set of analysis on 15 different targets?"

bRuh just tell us what you want

I agree I don't like that either. The worst for me, however, is any comment that starts with "as discussed ...".

Particularly when it a) was never really discussed or b) was a very vague task. I know some seniors who will ALWAYS use this phrase and it comes often off as "we already talked about that, why is it wrong stupid?" so I really don't like it.

Of course there are times when it is warranted but I see it massively overused.

My old ED used say "This can't be correct" and literally stamp his feet.

Got so aggy I used to screen shot exactly where numbers came from and put them in tabs at the end of the model. Such a waste of time.

As annoying as it is I'd take "Why" any day...
