Has anyone else experienced difficulties with UBS because of visa-related issues? I am very frustrated with my onboarding process with UBS as they are very unhelpful when it comes to sponsorship / visa matters. Would love to hear about your experiences and any advice you might have.

Are they not willing to sign any documents?
From my understanding UBS never sponsored. Did you not tell them you needed sponsorship before?
UBS doesn't sponsor IB in the US. There must've been a miscommunication somewhere or the HR team you worked with fucked up somewhere. I would look to move out ASAP, they will not sponsor.
Even for internships? I knew a couple that were sponsored
They most likely just won't convert you to FT. They are known for not sponsoring, and for my internship year at UBS for what it's worth they didn't sponsor. Not sure what the case is now, but I know UBS generally doesn't sponsor.
UBS Securities does sponsor. Go on h1bdata.info. But that’s about it, do you work for a different branch?
Agree they do have a friend who just applied fit STEM extension and they did all the paperwork and also when she was an intern
from what I've heard they do sponsor for certain groups/levels. BUT their HR are quite incapable of handling visa issues. heard cases where internationals' start dates got pushed back. so yeh OP you're right, they are not quite friendly to visa holders.
Okay, I will defer on this then since it seems everyone else is saying they sponsor. I was at the firm 2+ years ago(just never changed title), and they didn't for me thus my comment.
When I interviewed with them for a summer analyst position and then for a full-time position two years ago, they were open to sponsoring. I didn't get the sense that they were not competent. I also have a few international friends there too, but it's interesting to read about them now.
