Does anybody have any Series 79 materials I can buy? I have the STC stuff and have started studying, but have heard that other prep companies are better (knopman, etc). Also, I'm trying to find an actual prep class in Houston and don't see any around. Let me know if anybody knows of Houston classroom courses.

I've hung on to my Series 79 materials (Securities Training Corporation) after passing the exam Summer 2010. For those don't know, if you didn't hold your Series 7 before May, 2010, and will be in the investment banking field, you cannot be grandfathered in and must acquire this license. The book is in good shape, as I only used it for a week. I'm selling the materials (9 chapters) for $125; if you want the practice exams included, it will be $175. Let me know.

Employers are indifferent so don't waste your money. It's something everyone has already accepted as a part of hiring someone new. And the content itself is of ZERO value on the job. I'll repeat that ZERO VALUE. Save your money.
Its the equivalent of telling a potential employer that you'll bring your own stapler if you're hired.

I passed my Series 79 and 63 with Knopman and STC 2014 guides. If anyone needs additional material, I'm selling mine. Took me 3 weeks to study and pass both exams. Reading the forums on what materials I needed helped. I took a lot of notes and it would be great to pass my notes along to another person who is looking for more material to pass the exam.
