Applied math is generally better than Business for S&T. Can’t speak for IB, but I think they respect people from more challenging majors as well. I know Marshall is a “top” business school though, so maybe try to do a double major or minor in the school if possible. Would avoid econ however as this may be seen as a Marshall reject major

USC isn’t a huge target for S&T, but obviously a great school so you’ll still get looks. I think they place decently well for IB, but are you a sophomore or junior transfer? If junior, you will likely have missed the recruiting cycle for both S&T and IB

They are more of a target for IB than S&T. Most west coast targets/semi-targets are this way as a lot of their alums end up on the west coast, which doesn't have much for S&T but will still have opportunities for IB. USC is obviously a great school though and nobody will look down on it when reviewing your resume for S&T, you will just have a harder time finding alums to network with than say Duke, Cornell, and other traditional S&T targets which will have lots of alums in the industry
