Back to the office...voluntary?
Recently joined a new IB shop.
that said shop will be returning to the office soon and has said they will be opening the nyc office for people to come back to... voluntarily
question is how voluntarily is this? Given I’m a. We joined they likely want me back in, but I don’t want to go back in. I’ve got a great wfh setup and feel pretty ramped already.
obviously don’t want to say no if that would impact my bonus or perception, but don’t want to go back.

same for us. expectation is that people come back 1-2 days a week initially and ramp up from there. eventually everyone will be back for 2-3 days per week.
Are you still in NYC? If so would just go to the office 1-3 days a week just to show that you’re around and WFH the rest of the time. That’s what people do at my firm. People come especially on Friday before Friday drinks 😅
If they say it’s voluntary it’s voluntary. If you want to volunteer you can. If you have better things to do with your time then do those. Volunteering is good
